For us, the newest trend has absolutely nothing to do with a religious statement. We just really like the stylish accessory that gives every outfit an upgrade with just the twist of a hand (literally). Even on those notoriousus “Bad Hair Days“ can it be a real lifesaver. You’re probably thinking, „this looks cool on other people but not on me“. Nonsense! We’ll show you that this look can be great for anyone and everyone.
Since the 60s, the scarf turban was a necessity for icons like Grace Kelly: You can achieve that retro-flair during summer vacation with these simple steps. The only important thing: The scarf must sit perfectly and can’t move.
Take a square scarf, fold it diagonally and place it as a triangle. Flip the wide side twice and place the cloth, with the tips facing forward, onto your head. Cross the ends of the cloth once and hold tight, so that your entire forehead is covered. With the tips you bind a knot and guide the rest of the cloth back towards the neck. Simply fold, hide under the hood and finish the look.
Are you a bit clumsy when it comes to styling your own hair? No problem. For those with two left hands, there is the tied turban. When pairing it with white shirts or blouses, best opt for ethno-prints. With jeans, a hippie-flower pattern gives a relaxed look. For an evening look, it should be more chic — use a colored scarf in a creme tone. Looks great with all black looks. Keep the hair down in an undone look. The icing on top: pair it with big earrings like some cool hoops.
If the turban style is too extravagant you, there is another option for beginners: a colorful headband. It can be styled with different hairstyles, whether long or short. Fixate the headband with a hairpin behind the ears, from top to bottom. But don’t make it too tight, otherwise it will lessen up quicker.
